Wow.. I thought the PBS Special did a wonderful job portraying our
ferrets in a positive light. I was really nervous at first because I
know they filmed over 500 hours and they could have made us out to be
even wackier than we are. But all in very nicely done.

It did show some older ferrets and that fact that we lose them to
illnesses. It showed me with my old boy -Gisborne's Zen with his
cancer. Vickie's 9 year old ferret. I think that did say some about
the fact we lose them and how we deal with it.

And. remember the Ferret Buckeye Bash does support a shelter - Heart
of Ohio Ferret Assocation and Rescue. And, the shelters that come as
vendors do well at this show.. More walk-ins for shopping that we
have from the PBS special - the better the vendors do. :>)

It is a fear I have, like many, that this will spurn more impulse
buying of ferrets and cause more stress and overload on our
shelters. Like 101 Dalmations did to the dalmation. I'm a breeder
but I still stress first time ferret owners to go to our shelter.
Most breeders do. I've lost many a sale and would probably have less
resident retirees if I didn't stress the shelter needs as much.

Don't be overwelmed by the Buckeye Bash for entries. The number of
entries is pretty equal to the December York AFA Winter Nationals. The
only thing that makes Buckeye Bash bigger is we have more vendors and
being centrally located more walk-ins. But.. the Winter Nationals is
now going to a day and half with speakers and vendors available on
Friday afternoon.

As for copies of the show.. go to PBS.org and their store or
Amazon.com and get a copy. Be carefull about promoting pirated copies
in public - it is illegal. And, who knows... maybe there is more
footage on the original DVD. :>)

The singer was Barb Carlson.. pip up Barb.. you're on here. :>)
Pittsburgh

On the people in the show...Peg Francisco from Toledo. She was the one
with the tube down the stairs. She does the wonderful silver ferret
jewelry. The spotted cat was her's also - that's Doppler. He sleeps
in the ferrets cages and in their hammies. :>)

Kerry Fabrizo and her husband Brian were the ones sheet tossing the
ferrets. Cincinnati, Ohio

Pam VanOverlop was the gray haired person that got bit on the nose.
Poor Pam.., Cincinnati area, Ohio

Vickie McKimmey was the person that kept saying everyone was going
to be mad at her for winning everything. :>) The dog was Vickie's.
Maryland

Jessie Molan was the one that planted her dead ferrets in her potted
rose planters and dressed them in pretty purple ferret costume.
Philadelphia area

Kathy Steward was the one with the ferrets that stole out of the
clothes basket and had just had one of her ferrets put down.
Pittsburgh

Barb Anshutz was the person that lost her ferret earlier and buried
the box in the pet cemetary. Eastern Ohio.

Max was the owner of the feet that shuffled. That was my Stella who was
chasing him..champagne mitt. She's been spayed and up for adoption :>)
Max works for Mark Lewis productions.

Joe Hahn and Suzy Mentzer were the couple with the horse statues. Joe
will be our photograher at the Buckeye Bash. Columbus, Ohio

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Now get yourself a copy of the show and bring it to the Buckeye Bash
and get it autographed. :>)
