Good one! I agree. Just about every ferret that has come through my doors
has had adrenals (if not one, then both). No one wants them, so they stay
and usually die here of complications-males are especially prone to this.
We do not put them through surgery if their health is compromised in any
way, but more importantly, we cannot possibly pay for every single ferret
who comes through our doors with adrenal problems. We will usually do the
first surgery, but more times than not, both are involved. It is very
frustrating and infuriating that these beautiful little creatures have to
spend their lives in a shelter situation because no one wants them as older
ferrets with adrenal problems. But yes, we love them and they have a good
home here with the best food, toys, blankies, etc. It's not like their own
home and human to love and care for them but it's the best I can do and
believe me, I do love them! (Missing Opie, Sadie, Sam, Ted, Toby, Sachem,
and Dillan very much)

Hugs,
Steph
