Yesterday, someone said, regarding the number of Ferrets in California:

> There are probably 10,000 critter [sic] living in CA.

Where did you get this number? I have heard that there are about 250,000
to 500,000 Ferrets in the state! Does anyone have a reliable estimate?
Even if one in a hundred people owns one, that is 250,000 of them!
California is one tenth of the US population after all, somewhere around
25 million people live here!
