Yes, it is indeed a wonderful idea to assemble a database of volunteers who
are willing to help out in an emergency/disaster situation.  Fortunately,
this important work is already being done by Chere McCoy and Ferret Friends
Disaster Response International.  If you would like to be listed with her

The first part of the form collects your personal information should *you*
need assistance in the event of an emergency.  The second part of the form
outlines your volunteering capabilities.
