Susan in UK, ferret adrenal growths tend to affect hormonal output (esp.
estrogen) rather than output of cortisol, so Cushings approaches don't
tend to be appropriate. (There are some unusual cases, and in those also
watch for diabetes -- which is thought to be why Lupron can reduce or
sometimes cure some cases of diabetes in ferrets.) See the FHL Archives
under my name, also vet posts carried to the FML as "from FHL" posts, and

In the FHL archives especially look for adrenal posts from AFERRETVET.

For what disorder is he on Pred? Pred is not useful for the type of
adrenal disease ferrets tend to get, and it can be hard on a diseased
heart. Does he also have insulinoma (which is an excellent reason to
use Pred)?
