Just a word about carpeting in cages.  Yes, it does seem like a nice
gripable floor for ferrets, but it also contains alot of dust , can be
eaten, and is very hard to clean, therefore, unsanitary.  If you have a
pull out tray, it would be better to use a piece of linoleum to cover the
bottom.  It's very easy to wipe clean and won't hold germs.  It may take
some figuring, but is safer than carpeting, unless you're going to change
the carpet at least every week.
