Hi everybody!
The Scherschel Zoo here. We are so excited (once again) to have added
another "son" to our family. His name is Casey and he is only 5 mo. old
and really does weigh 3.06 lbs. He is one BIG ball of fluff. He is a dark
sable that looks like a raccoon. He has spent his entire life (since he was
7wks old) at my friend's pet store and was the last ferret from a shipment
several months ago. I have this VERY LARGE soft spot for ferrets who are
the only ones left. Especially if they are big boys who would have a hard
time getting adopted. My husband jokingly says I am not allowed to enter
that pet store again! Truth be told he loves the fuzzbutts as much and my
daughter and I do. You should see him smooching and talking to them.
Anyway, as soon as I got home with Casey, my little girl, Madie ( who
probably doesn't even weigh a pound) was chasing him all over. He was
dooking and war dancing and loving every minute of it. Some of you may know
that we have quite a zoo here between cats and a dog and an iguana so Casey
had several new friends to meet. He loves everyone and has so much fun
playing. My ferrets (most of them) sleep behind our sectional and the first
night he was right there in the middle of an evergrowing pile of ferrets.
They all looked up at me as if to say..."What?" I found him sleeping in my
"used to be" nighstand, that is now a ferret bed, quite content. He isn't
fond of being fussed over but he sure loves to play. The first night I
stuffed ( and I do mean stuffed) him into our clear dryer tube for him to
play in. He didn't want to go in. Can you imagine how hard stuffing a 3
lb. ferret was. It wasn't long though that he decided that this was fun
and now he's in it all the time.

All the others have taken him right in and Bubba has done his usual ...I'm
King here so get that straight routine and Casey just bit him right back.
So now we are up to 9 and I think my friends have disowned me because they
all definately think I've gone off the deep end but they just don't
understand how ferret math works! I wish I could say I will not ...will
not... get any more but you all know how that goes. I do think I better
stop pretty soon or my husband is liable to trade me in for a ferret!

Love and fuzzy kisses from the zoo.

Pat, Bubba, Weasey, Emmet, Mooky, Madie, Mitzi, Opie, Timone, and Casey!
(the 5 cats, dog and iguana too)
