I have got a female 8 years old, and some younger ones, her teeth (canines)
were cut at the age of 6 months and still in perfect condition. Only a
small number will get problems. If the ferret is in good condition, and the
tooth is not split, there should be more risk in --wait and see-- than
taking some other choice. The use of a dental bur to straiten the top of
the teeth will be an advantage.

Good luck- Bill
