It won't mean much without the survivors of confirmed adrenal disease. In
about 15 years with ferrets we've had only three with adrenal disease.
Hjalmar (from a private small breeder working with a now-defunct local mom
and pop pet store) had lympho associated with his right adrenal. It had
spread by time of surgery. With steroids and chemo he had another 14
months, with his health very reasonable and his temperment happy until close
to the final days thanks to the meds, and he passed away at about 8 years of
age. Ruffle had the common form -- a benign neoplasia -- but had other
health problems simultaneously and those were what killed her. (Bob is very
familiar with Ruffle's hard tissue problems and knows her history.) Meltdown
had a malignant tumor (well encapsulated as is not unusual with this form of
adrenal malignancy) of her left adrenal at the age of 5. Removal was
curative and she went on to live another 3 and 1/2 years (three and one half
YEARS) because treatment was provided. (Of course, that's nothing compared
to ferrets like Katie Fritz's Bandit (an ex-FML member and not Kathy) who
had lympho and got another 5 years from the Jeglum Chemo protocol, but
that's another case and not one of our's.)

Busy a lot the last few days. Will post on states again probably tomorrow
or on the weekend.
