Hi, Nancy. At our vet hospital, we more often than not compound tablet
medications with a combination of water, flavoring syrup and a suspension
medium such as Ora-Plus to make pills into liquid for animals that are
hard to pill or would have a hard time with a bigger pill. Ask your
vet if they can either compound the medicine for you, or if they can
recommend a compounding pharmacy to do it. The medication generally has
an earlier expiration date this way, but it sure is easier to give most
ferrets a liquid than a pill!
