Boy are you easily frightened! I don't know if it is a reason WHY women
like like ferrets, but it is true that if you put a sleeping ferret in a
woman's arms, she is likely to start instinctively shifting weight from one
foot to another in that special baby-rocking rhythm. Even my daughter's 16
year old friend, who's never interacted with ferrets before, reacted that
way when I put a sleepy Caruso in her arms the other day.

Women will do this with ferrets, kittens, small dogs, bunnies, human
infants, anything that will lie still. Heck I caught myself starting to do
it once when I was holding a stuffed animal! Men will cuddle and caress,
but rarely rock.
