We have had at least three MF ferrets this year with uterine remnants that
precluded swollen vulva. I don't remember that we had this problem in the
past. Perhaps MF has changed procedures, techs, or something else profit
related.

The only way that I can see to regulate the age at which ferrets are
transported is through federal legislation. I have advocated this in the
past but shelter priorities preclude getting something done about it. If
they couldn't ship them until they were at least 2 or 3 month old they
would have no incentive to spay them so young. I think that Karen
McCarthy, our representative from KC area, would be willing to sponsor or
co-sponsor something of this sort. Ideas? Energy?
