Hi Alejandro,
 
I believe that the dachshund was originally bred to hunt badgers, not
hedgehogs.....and guess who's related to badgers???
 
Having said that, our Jack Russell has eventually learned to live with the
ferrets (he originally ate their wooden hutch to get at them!), even though
we still go rabbiting so he still chases small furry things.He will let the
ferrets crawl all over him and lick in his ears without growling now.However
I don't leave them alone together!
 
I am sure that you could bring the pup up with ferrets with no problems on
the dog's part, provided you "socialise" it with the ferrets.Whether the
ferrets will accept the dog is another story though!!!
