No, they aren't unique.  Diane Campbell of the Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven
reported having 47 shelter ferrets, 31 of them with special needs, at the
last Triangle Ferret Lovers meeting.  Many of the special needs ferrets are
terminally ill.  Diane desperately needs sponsors for ferret medical bills,
as well as experienced ferret owners who can adopt a ferret that needs
care.
