Euthenasia. When I had to put my cat to sleep it was the hardest thing I
ever had to do. Imagine my shock when it wasn't just a normal in the
shoulder/butt type shot but essentially they "cut" as they would for an IV
then inserted the needle into the IV. My cat, as bad as he was, cried.
This led me to two resolutions. One - as was mentioned yesterday, try to
find a vet to come to my home and Two - ask (insist) on a pre shot if
possible or a little gas first. I don't know whether its possible medically
but I'm going to go a few rounds if I have to go through this again to spare
any pet of mine further pain.

Blockages. I'd just like to point out to newbies that "stuff" can hang out
in varies corners and curves of the intestines or bounce around in the
stomach as a partial blockage for a long long time (months) destroying
tissue and intestinal/stomach walls before you realize what the problem is.
X-rays, even ones with barium often don't show things like rubber or
matieral. Blockages are very scary and hard to figure. Any vomiting should
be a warning sign even if its very intermittment. Unless vomiting is
followed by large amounts of hairballs in their poop and a total cessation
of any problems get real suspicious. Cat lax to my mind doesn't help all
that much for blockages. I'm not sure it helps but I also start dosing with
fish oil or ferretone (sometimes mixed to try not to overdose on the vit A
etc. in the ferretone).
