It is truly disappointing when organizations like the Audubon Society and
the Sierra Club indulge in the myths and unfounded claims regarding ferrets.
Until I knew that these organizations have opposed ferret legalization in
California, I had a fair deal of respect for them. I suppose that makes me
doubly disappointed in them now.

If you are like me, you get solicitations for donations from both
organizations in the mail. Besides sending your letters now to the Audobon
Society and others, why not return the donations forms with no donation and
a letter about why you refuse to donate at this time? We've heard in the
past that sometimes it's not the national organization, but local branches
that take up the anti-ferret banner. Perhaps a little pressure from within
their own organization because of donation dollars lost and the blemish on
their image will help.

With so many worthy organizations completing for my donation dollars, it
is impossible to support an organization that believes my lovable little
fuzzheads to be the kudzu of the animal kingdom.

 jinx (kudnip!)
