I called down to Orange County Animal Rescue and spoke to a lady there
about the Ferrets. I offered to take them before they were euthenized.
I explained that I would be driving from N. Fl and that with such a
long drive would they work with me on the adoption fee so the babies
won't have to be put down. She advised that they would not. When asked
if they would rather euthenize the ferrets rather than working with
someone on the adoption fee (gas is so expensive) I was told no, but
they have euthenized very few ferrets and that they just got there,
there has been intrest expressed in them and that they are no where
near being euthenized. I was happy to hear that they sounded very
confident in the ferrets adoptive prospects but dismayed that they
would euthenize an animal rather than work with someone over the
adoption fee. Had I been closer to the shelter $40 per animal wouldn't
have been so bad, but add that with a 5hr drive both ways and initial
vet bills for check ups, we just can't afford it.

I sincerely hope those beautiful kids find a loving forever home.
