Hi Everyone,

Wish I had had my cam corder hooked up last night. I am currently boarding
two wonderful little fuzzie girls, while their mom desperately searches for
an apartment where she can keep them. New management forced her to get the
ferrets out of her apartment. Now, these little girls have a five story
condo, are well litter-trained and very well behaved.

They are also curious, very, very curious and very, very smart, especially
when compared to my elders here in the shelter.

I have a wicker cat bed, one of those that has a top that comes loose from
the bottom, for easy cleaning. I try to put down a new exploratory toy
each day to keep ferrets happy. This turned out to be a real exploratory
toy. These little girls, Precious and Rebecca, love to explore and climb.
I had hardly gotten back to my chair, when I saw the wicker cat bed top
walking around the living room. Every so often it would stop, and out
would pop a fuzzie who would climb to the top of the wicker and survey,
to see if they had gotten it close enough to jump up on things that are
unreachable from the ground!! This was a very deliberate act on their
part, and they knew exactly where they were going to push the wicker next.
I have seen many examples of fuzzie smarts in 15 years, but this one tops
the list.

Hope you got a chuckle out of this. I sure did. I was so busy watching
that wicker top walk around the living room and laughing so hard, that I
forgot to watch the news on tv.

Happy Holidays to everyone from the Critterpen Rescue fuzzies and, of
course, their slave, Cheryl
