Hi Emily, (and list :-)

I get my checks from Kansas Bank Note Company, for something like $16.00
for 200 duplicate check, with cute little ferrets on them. The only thing
I don't care for is that the duplicate page is almost as thick as the
check, but that's a little thing.

Send a short note to:

Kansas Bank Note Co
PO Box 360
502 N 5th
Fredonia, KS 66736

and ask for sample of ferret checks.

They'll send you the samples, an order form, and a list of other animal
checks available.

They'll also make a check from a photograph for a one-time artwork charge.
Kind of cool.

Christmas tree advice is just around the corner . . .

The only trouble I had with my real tree last year was the ferrets drinking
the water (which was actually 7-up because I heard that was good.) The
ferrets thought it was good, too! Neither of them climbed it very much, and
a few ornaments got knocked off, but I'd put the breakable ones up high.

I have 5 ferrets this year, and I've decided to put up a small table-top
tree--our house is so small that I can't stand the thought of the mess and
rearranging I'll need to do for a big tree.

Take care,
