Hi-

Chere: I *love* your morning song ... and I'm very glad to learn that I'm
not the only person that sings to ferrets!! Every morning, as they're
waking up - I sing each one of them their own special song (after I turn
off the baby monitor so that I don't have to put up with Todd's laughter
which is a mistake that only happened once).

While mine aren't so creative (except for my generic Fuzzy-Buddy song that
isn't worth sharing), they all seem to like them, and most will even sit
still to listen. My personal favorite ferret songs are The Huey Lewis song,
which is basically the rubber-ducky song, Tiff-Tiffany, which is a new
variation of Chim-chiminy, and of course - the Gilligan's island theme for
Gilligan.

Ferret Phones: We have ferret phones around here!! I'm not sure how it
started, but when one starts getting my nerves, I pick it up and tell Todd
"It's for you!" just like it was a phone. It frequently keeps both of us
from losing our cool with the critter - or just plain gives us unsupervised
time to fix whatever the ferret did.

Ferret Euphemisims/Names: We mostly have weirdos, crazies, babies, &
troubles running around here. Each one of our ferrets have a given name, a
middle name that shows up on occassion, and a few extra names. Most of them
respond to all of their names - except the few that have learned the
differance between the "good" names and the "bad" names - just like when I
was little I knew everything was ok when I was Andi, but if I heard my
whole name .... big trouble!

We're still skunking around over here - I don't even want to tell you how
my breakfast just tasted! I forgot it was in the car at the time. VERY
GROSS. Thanks for all the suggestions we've gotten so far! We're going
shopping today for some more stuff to try.

Andi
