I just found out that August 18, 2001, is National Homeless Animals Day.
I don't know if any of the shelter or ferret clubs participate in anything
but it might be a good time to let people know about your group.  Awareness
of the situation shouldn't be limited to just dogs and cats.

a local candlelight vigil, contact the International Society for Animal
Rights.
