A ferret's adult coat is usually darker and more distinctly marked than
their baby coat.  The winter is coat is actually lighter than the summer
coat, in part because of the thicker light colored underfur.
 
Some fuzzies change colors quite distinctly between seasons.  Some "fade"
over time, expecially silver or roans who get more white hairs with each
coat change.  Just part of their charm!
 
As for finding vets, if you go to
http://www.ferretcongress.org
and click on Critical Ferret References and scroll about 3/4 of the way
down, you'll find several sites that list vets that treat ferrets.
