Hi: I am writing to spout off about vet fee's.  I am a new ferret owner and
my ferrets have not been to the vets yet.  I am afraid because what happened
to me in the spring.  I took my Labador retriever to the vets for a check up
and shots.  He also did a heart worm check and gave me flea preventive.
THIS COST ME $125.  ..  I almost fell over when he gave me the bill.  I am a
struggling single mother who has 2 children.  I am totally confused.  I have
never paid this much for myself or my children to go the the Doctor.  Sick
or well.  Where do these vets get off charging this much for an animal.  I
love my animals but that was two thirds of a weeks pay.  I just can't aford
it.  I did get my dog and cat free rabie shots but the vet managed to rack
up a big bill anyway.  I live in CAPE MAY, NJ.  The vet was ABRI ANIMAL
HOSPITAL in dias creek, NJ.  Maybe its just this area that the vets think
that they are worth so much.  I don't know, all I do know is that I doubt
that my little ferrets will ever get to the vets.  I love them but I have to
feed 2 children.  When did vets get so high and mighty.
 
Please let me know if all area vets are like this, because I called a few in
this area and they are all the same price.  Thanks for letting me spout off.
