Awhile back there were posts about keeping ferrets in more natural lighting
and that this might be beneficial with adrenal disease.

Well, back in November we enclosed a portion of my partial basement for
the ferrets. My basement is concrete and rock on one side and dirt on the
other. The one small window has styrofoam over it (I don't know why, it
was there when I moved in, but my guess would be for insulation) and the
bedding area is behind the huge door. There is a shower curtain over the
doorway as well. The only unnatural light is when I do laundry, the rest
of the time the room is dark.

Many of the adrenal ferrets sleep in the basement (their choice and they
have ramps, tubes and stairs to climb to come upstairs). ALL our adrenal
ferrets are in full-bloom for the second or third time.

So for us, the natural lighting, which is actually more darkness than
natural, didn't help. :-(

My condolences to all who have lost loved ones..... Each one that leaves
takes a small piece of our hearts with the so that we can always be
together.

hugs to all. tle
