I just got off the phone with Kat Parsons. She asked me to tell you
what happened to her today and to give you all a message.

Her next door neighbor's house caught on fire. The other neighbor came
and banged on her door to get out, now. Kat grabbed a carrier and stuck
what she thought was all her ferrets in the carrier. Kat's husband
Tommy grabbed the cat and they all got out their house.

All is well for Tommy and Kat. Not so for their neighbor, their house
is gone. When Kat & Tommy got the all clear to return to their house.
The carrier they were using fell apart on the street and 13 ferrets
were free. Thank goodness they were shocked by all that was going on,
and were easily gathered up. Once back in the house Kat realized they
had left one ferret in the house all along. Had their house burned,
one of their beloved ferrets would have died too.

Kat's message to you all is this. Be prepared. Don't think it will
never happen to you. Have sturdy carriers within reach. Have a place
you can go. Have a plan.

Kat is pretty shook up, she sends her love to all and says she will be
back ASAP.
