-,{@   In Betsy's cage I use a clip on dish. Betsy would find a way to trash
 -,{@ a nest  box. I'll see if the pet shop has one & if it's not to big I'll
 -,{@ give that a  try!!!  Thanks for the idea!!!!
 -,{@   I don't worry about putting water bottles outside of the 2 cages, the
 -,{@ kids  will go back in the cage for their water.  I've never just put
 -,{@ water in a  dish for them, they'ed make a mess of it for sure!!!!
 
 
I tried a clip on dish. But Nonni digs her face into it. Part of that is
when the others are trying to share. Nonni winds herself up like a snake
through the dish, pushing the others out (stinker!) and pushing food out to
the floor. Argh...As far as the nest box, thay have taken the top off...but
it's okay too, because the walls are high enough to prevent them from
spilling the food. :)  If yours doesn't do that, a dish will be great..and
water, yep...mine too. Nonni LOVES it! In the summer I put them outside in
the cage...and I put a tub of water. Nonni had a blast!

Hi.....I use Science Diet Feline Growth formula. I've tried others, but they
seem to do the best on this. :)  I'm sorry about your first little guy! :<
I've lost a ferret too. To my dog. :<<< So I understand. I will also go and
get a really nice story someone wrote called Rainbow Bridge and send it on.

As for when the excitement wears off...I KNOW that happens here alot.
Because hundreds are sold...yet I never see them again. I know they either
get out, are not taken to the vet when sick or fed wrong, etc etc...I think
people think of them like hamsters kind of. Like Ferrets are more rodents
than a very intelligent and sweet pet. If it costs too much to feed them
properly...they may feed them generic anything. And like I said...no vets.
:'(  We don't have a shelter here. When Ed McMahon comes knocking on my door
I'll have to start one. <G> Or if I can find a way to do it with other funds
or whatever. :/
 
Glad you are here!! Welcome!! I'll send Rainbow bridge up too as soon as I
can find it..:)
 
BTW, what text editor are you using? Are you on a PC? I noticed yours isn't
wrapping...and I have A neat little text editor that I can get to you, no
problem at all, if you want it. :)
 
I'm starved. But my kids haven't cleaned the kitchen. I have been telling
them to do it for 2 days now..and I told them I was not stepping foot in
there to even fix meals til it was done. I guess I ought to invest in a hot
plate. <G> Or use my camp stove in my bedroom. Hehehehe!!

BTW, Mama is HUGE now!!!  The family I gave her to is great! She LOVEs being
the only ferret. They tell me she even jumps around and plays. She didn't do
that here...so I'm really excited for her! :D
