Hi, Andria,
 
The anemia from prolonged heat in female ferrets is real.  You will
find it in any vet text on ferrets.  What is not consistent is the
percentage involved, though figures ranging from 60% and upward for
general populations are often mentioned.  Some breeders seem to have
been fortunate enough to genetically reduce this tendency, going from
their own reports.  So, they are not lying, but they also don't have the
common situation, so should not assume that they do.  I lack time today
but you can find vet posts on this in the FML and FHL Archives.

I think that you are looking at ml, not mg.  You need the mg number!

ml is the volume (but concentration is often NOT one to one for mg
and ml)
mg is the actual amount of medication (medication weight)
kg is the animal weight
