Since you certaintly don't want to scrape accidents out of a carpeted cage
bottom (I sure wouldn't) and don't want your little sweetie to get her legs
stuck, why don't you try linoleum?  We have our cage bottom covered in
linoleum and it's actually easier to clean than accidents going through
the cage!  Just a suggestion.
