The California Senate has a WWW home page which includes info on each
Senator (including mailing and sometimes E-mail addresses) and info on all
bills.  Here are 3 URLs that allow access to various areas:
 
Access to the Web page:
http://sen.ca.gov/
 
Senator list (containing addresses and biographies):
http://www.sen.ca.gov/htbin/seninfo/sen.senator
 
Allows you to search of info on a bill by bill number (sb_55 maybe?):
Bill Search: http://sen.ca.gov/htbin/ca-search-bills-bn
 
This might come in handy if the Ferret Bill comes up again (soon)?
