My vet feeds her own ferrets Iams kitten food. It is true that many of the
cheaper cat foods on the market can be bad for ferrets because they are
stocked with cheaper vegetable-based proteins which are not usable by the
ferrets' system instead of meat based proteins. But Iams kitten is actually
quite close in ingredients to TF. Personally, I mix TF and Iams kitten
half-and-half. That way, I am still saving a dollar or two and I know that
my ferrets will be nutritionally complete!
