Well write to Vickie McKimmey directly. The AFA has a little showing guide
that is about what you are looking for. Since ferrets do not have breeds
they don't have "standards" to seperate the breeds. For example a show
German Shepherd can't be as tall as a Great Dane so the height is part of
the standard. A ferret is as tall as a ferret is.

We're trying to prod the AFA to write a standard under the formal name of
show standard anyway.

We've got copies of the standards from LIFE, NAFA, FURO, and the GLFA.
These aren't standards in the manner of dog breeds. There is defintely
some "borrowing" of materials going on. Parts of the GLFA standard are
borrowed from LIFE which ironically is largely borrowed from what is now
the independent "standard" which was written for LIFE by Vickie McKimmey.
The GLFA also borrows heavily from the AFA's papers, NAFA and FURO's
"standards". Its pretty obvious that the GLFA had materials (including
some proprietary ones) belonging to the AFA so ask your club president or
others involved in writing the GLFA "standard".

Vickie's address as published on the AFA page is [log in to unmask]
