Hi Jennifer,
 
My heart just breaks for you.  I wish I could tell you a definite sign
to look for, but I dont think there are any.  I've yet to lose a ferret
where it was a long time coming, but I've got a boy who is constantly
loosing weight, having to be hand fed, perking up, etc.  I know that
the day will come when he wont perk up and I dread having to make that
decision.
 
You and CJ are in my thoughts today.  Please keep us updated on how he's
doing.
