Thought I'd tell you about something my ferret did that might bring a
chuckle or two.We could all use a few of those.Jasmine,my female dark
sable,and Valentine,her longtime beau,went for a ride with me to Sonic.They
have a ferret sized patch of grass between the lines of car stalls,and is a
favorite fuzzy place.They love to go grass slithering and scratch their
tummies.
 
      Well,that day they had watered with a running hose instead of a
sprinkler.It was half full of water,the bottom half,but the other part was
dry.Things tend to dry out fast here,it's a dry heat.I thought I'd just let
them play in the dry part,and they were happily slithering about,and
occasionally digging a bit,amusing the customers,and generally having a good
time.
 
Jasmine decided she'd dance on the edge.She started war dancing along the
concrete next to the little lake.She really thought she was hot stuff
bouncing all along the edge,showing how happy she was.Just then a large
noisy truck drove up.Jasmine poofed,turned sideways,and hopped into the
water.She looked really surprised to be standing there all wet.
 
She got a look on her face that said 'Oh well' ,and started bouncing through
the wet stuff,H20,liquid gold.When I quit laughing,I picked her up out of
the big puddle, and scraped the excess water off of her.That's when I heard
the people in their cars laughing.Valentine looked at me and I swear he was
thinking "Do I have to ride home with her?She's all wet.' I just
grinned,shrugged and put them both in the car.
 
Treats?Mine have a few,especially Valentine.If it doesn't move fast enough
he'll eat it.One of their favorites is oatmeal with applesauce.I put the
applesauce in for my grandson,to make it taste better,and lo the ferrets
came and begged.Now they have to have a teaspoonful whenever anyone eats
oatmeal.The chunky style only put them off for a few seconds,applesauce
that is.
 
      Sandy & 3 treat eatin' machines
Never give a ferret all the oatmeal he wants,unless you like white poop.
