Since I have over 15 lbs sometimes to sift through I needed a heavy
duty solution, I went to Orchard Supply and got the metal screen with
holes maybe 1/8" square? I cut out the middle of a litterpan, leaving
2 inches or more all the way around of the bottom, cut a metal screen
part the size of the entire bottom, placed it inside and duct taped it
securely (using a lot of tape). The result: a sifter that pellets will
not get through, ever! I had to change to this design when my pellet
supplier started using ones that were skinny enough to fit through the
cat scoops.
