We've used it for about seven years now on the cages, the floors and the
walls in the ferret rooms.  We've never had a problem with it, and it
cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes wonderfully.  We rinse well after
using it, and make sure all surfaces are thoroughly dry before allowing
the ferrets to come back in contact with them.
