I finally madeit safe and sound and now (once again) up to my neck in
research. I was able to visit almost everyone in Florida that asked
(missed a few; sorry, but could never make connections to set up times).
In a day or so I will contact the Tennessee people who asked. I should be
back at DC by the weekend to pick up a my boys who have reportedly spread
bad habits to the DC ferts, as well as lots of green envy about their
magnificent looks and demeanor. I was told I may have to use the SWAT team
to get them back. I will try to contact everyone in DC who asked for me to
stop by.....I am trying to keep the weekend open for play.

Then home for a couple weeks and off again, to CaCa Land, Portland, Seattle,
the Great White North, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and home. The NY and PA
trip will follow. Whew! No, ui and Carbone will not come with me. Can't
take the risk of Ferret Larceny!

Oh, if you have a chance to go to the bottom of Florida, drop in on the
people down there, and drop by the "Just For Ferrets" store. It really is
just for ferrets, and even though I didn't buy anything, the place is great.
I wish I had a ferret playland like theirs. Heck, I wish I had my own
playland like theirs. They wouldn't adopt me. Oh, and that Mike sure
knows how to BBQ. A very nice visit, even though it was marred by missing
a few people. If you hear anything nasty from a ferret up near
Jacksonville, don't believe it. Unless its good, then its ok.

I finally got to met one of my hero's, Dr. Kemmerer. What a really great
lady; you Florida people are lucky to have her, even if the road outside
her hospital is torn up right now. And for those of you who don't think
vets have feelings, well she does. She feels her losses as deeply as I
feel mine, maybe more so. Besides, you have to love a vet office where
they also shelter ferrets. Now she is even more of a hero.

On a more serious note, Foster seems to be ailing. He was taken to the vet
today because of "bloating" and whining when being picked up. The vet,
knowing how much I care for him, took Foster home with them for the night,
so I won't know what is going on until later tomorrow. The Xrays were
inconclusive (no foreign objects, but not much of anything else). I guess
I will just have to be patient. Yeah, right.
