If anyone has had a similar experience to what I am about to convey I would
appreciate any advice you could give to me. My ferret, Tourette, has been
steadily loosing fur from her tail for about 6 months now. The fur is not
growing back so I decided to take her to the vets and have blood work done
to determine if it was possibly adrenal. She is 4 years old, in great
health and exhibits no problems other then the fur loss. No blackheads
on her tail either. Well my vet called me this morning with the results
and told me that it was a case of non-diagnosis!! He said that the levels
were not normal but not at the level that he could tell me whether it truly
was adrenal. I do not really know what to do! If she has it I assume the
surgery will reveal it even if it is in the early stages, but if she
doesn't then I am putting her through surgery and all the stress that goes
with it for possibly nothing. Should I wait till she exhibits other signs?
I just really do not know what to do and I would like some advice. I
appreciate your support on this.

[P.S.]
I forgot to add to the letter I posted on my ferret, Tourette, that the
vet recommended exploratory surgery. I wanted to clarify this.
