Of course there are many things that can cause lethargy and weakness, but
my immediate question would be, what was his blood glucose reading?  If you
don't know, find out.  Normal ranges from 90 to 125 mg/dL, but some vets
are beginning to consider 90 to be a sign of possible insulinoma.  Keep in
mind that the length of time since your ferret had eaten before the test
would affect the results.
 
You might want to go to the adrenal/insulinoma web site listed in my
signature, and particularly the page on insulinoma, and see if any of the
symptoms there ring a bell.
