Here is how we solved the litter and litterbox problem. Parris WAS good
about using hers as she had been a cage ferret before coming here and
getting their own room. The Kidd was hit and mostly miss. I got a bigger
pan as he outgrew the small one. Soon they were both pushing the litter
pan aside to use the corner. Was using a pelleted litter that rolled
under their feet and they didn't seem to like that. So put paper towels
in the pan and that seemed better. So now I put a folded paper towel in
the one favorite *no pan please corner*. The same in the pans in other
corners, the same in their cage pan at night. Easy to keep up with, just
toss and replace as needed. I get lots of bending over exercise.<G> Mind
you I have linoleum in their room and only 3 kids. Buy paper towels in
bulk at Costco. Cheaper for me than subscribing to the newspaper that
would never get read. I keep a spray bottle of 1/2 white vinegar 1/2
water in the room. Use as needed, a mild natural antiseptic and
deodorizer. This works for me, kinda can't beat 'em, join 'em. Am I the
only one that thinks a fert going potty is a cute thing?!! They even
smile.
