I received this e-mail a few days ago and she gave me permission to post
here. Can anyone help this person? I am in Massachusetts so I have no
idea why she wrote to me.

>Dear Diddy,
>I have owned two ferrets, Fred and Ethyl, for about six years. I
>absolutely love them and always wanted to add more ferrets to my family.
>Unfornately, about six months ago Fred was diagnosed with cancer in his
>pancreas. The vet said he would live anywhere from six to twelve months.
>I have been giving him medication for the past six months and am worried
>how Ethyl will cope when he dies. The two have never been separated. I
>wanted to adopt a ferret while Fred is still around so it is easier on
>Ethyl. I live in Kansas City, MO during most of the year and St. Louis,
>MO in the summer. If you know of any shelters near either location or
>can offer me any advice I would be more than grateful.
>
>I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time.
>
>Sincerely,
>Keri Baldwin
