>What happens if my ferrets eat ants?

They'll digest them but they prefer the chocolate covered ones.

Best pest control is locate where they are coming into the house and treat
them from outside. Makes a difference if you are on slab or pier and beam.
Many chemicals available with instructions in the garden centers, KMarts,
Walmarts, lumber stores, etc. Spring is on its way.

>Everyone but me is really worried about the smell. Does anybody have a
>really decent-smelling ferret or three around? Any tips?

I have 6 lovely smelling ferrets errrrrrrrr make that 5, Ajax stinks
baddddd, he has developed one little round bulb between his legs and is
strutting his stuff. As he puts it "odor is all in the nose of the
beholder".

I wash their bedding a lot and use Downey or softners extra thick. Mine
do not show any sneezing or breathing problems from it and really seem to
enjoy burying into soft fresh stuff when I put it back in their cage. I
sniff each one (except urine splashing Ajax) everytime I pick them up They
smell good but I'm not sure if they appreciate my cold nose pressed into
their warm little tummies. Perhaps someone out there needs to warn me if
there is some ill effects from fabric softener for I have been doing it a
long time and don't see anything bad I can connect with it. I don't like
the body sprays cause the ferrets don't like the body sprays even if I
spray it in my hands and then rub it on them. It doesn't last over a day
either. I know to wash bedding when they lose the Downey smell and it
lasts 3 or 4 or more days.
