Hi!

Up until this past year, my bedroom also doubled as the ferrets room.
They had full run the room.

My Meisha was my main bed buddy, but Domi used to sleep with me, too.
Then as I added on (eventually, reaching seven ferrets), I would every now
and again wake up with as many as four ferrets in the bed. But my main
sleeping buddy was Meisha.

I don't know how or why she began sleeping with me. She started soon
after I brought her home from the pet store (note: this is before I knew
of ferret shelters, the fml, etc). And she was this tiny (1.3 lbs to 1.5
lbs... depending on the time of year) little girl.

I never had a problem rolling over on top of her. I generally sleep
soundly and seldom move around. I am such that if I were to move, I'd wake
first, reposition myself then go back to sleep. I have had incidences,
though, where one of my boys would sleep between my knees and I would
almost roll over on them, but again, I was aware I was moving so I
corrected the situaition.

My Meisha passed on April 14th. I truely miss having her sleep with me.
It was very special; a bonding experience. I would even pull her close
to me and she would settle where I held her.

I think if a person sleeps soundly, having a ferret in bed with them MAY
be "dangerous", but from personal experience....well, let's just say I
sit here with a big smile on my face from past memories.

Lise
