Melissa and Potpie here -

Well, it's been 90+ in my area of michigan this week, so when i got home
from work yesterday and Potpie slunk out of her cage and instantly
collapsed on the floor, i decided to relocate her to the basement.
Unfortunately, it is NOT ferretproofed, so while it's cool (and dank, and
damp, and badly lit), i cant let her go running around where it's cool.
So she goes upstairs, *poof*, she's hot and gasping. But while she's in
the cool basement, she's all ready to be let out and zip around. *sigh*
I wish the weather would break..im fortunate to /have/ a cool basement,
but does anyone know of any weird problems with keeping ferrets
(temporarily - if this weather holds up im buying AC) in basements?

re: Renegade and climbing/leaping..Potpie's extraordinarily good at both.
*zip* up the drapes (we have blinds now). *shoop* from floor, up leg,
shirt, to shoulder. She's better at jumping horizontally than down from
places, which i think she started doing less once we moved into a house
with hardwood floors. A long jump down means a big yeowch!

Potpie, "a bath would NOT cool me off - get that water AWAY from me"
and
Melissa, swimming, swimming, swimming.
