http://www.afip.org/ferrets (Look for sebaceous epithelioma): a new and
useful addition to that site.

Try a different flavor. One of our's will use only malt-flavor ones, or
mix a favorite flavor with petroleum jelly which is what works. Oils do
not work, and there is no reason to think that pineapple juice works in
ferrets (See archives on topic.). Remember that sometimes they are
reluctant to try new flavors but love them once tried.

>Honey Nut Shredded Wheat

3 reasons to think about avoiding that: nut chunks have caused blockages
in ferrets in the past, so if large enough nut pieces are in it it could
be real danger; they aren't really set-up for digesting carbohydrates so
multiple concerns there; a lot of sugar may not be a good idea and
really is not a good idea if insulinoma is present (except for bringing
one out of an unexpected seizure).

When an unexpected death occurs it always pays to do a necropsy with
pathology. Sometimes a cause is found that might endanger remaining
ferrets and knowing the cause could stop further deaths.
