Just wanted share our experience. We brought my cat LauraLee into my
parents house when she was 12 weeks old. The other cats at my parents
house are afraid of the ferrets, and avoid them when necessary. Lally
though loves to get in with the ferts at mom and dads and play. She is not
declawed, as all the info I've read suggests declawing can have harmful
effects on the cats health. There has never been a problem of the ferrets
getting scratched. Stoney (who is now with us in E-burg) and Lally used
to get into wrestling matches. She never took her claws out. I usually
worried more about one of them latching onto her than her hurting them.

One of our kids' favorite toys is the empty Totally Ferret bag. This is a
supervised play toy, but reallly I don't think that they could get hurt
with it.
