FACT:
Ferrets are a dead-end host for rabies. Rabies take about 6 mo. to
incubate, and while a dog has about a ten day window to infect while rabid,
ferrets die before they would be able to infect. THUS: a ferret younger
than six mo. old cannot be rabid, and any ferret would be dead before
becoming infectious!

[Moderator's note: If things are stated as absolute facts, please back
them up with references... while there's a grain of truth in what you
state, I really don't think it is that clear cut. BIG]

FICTION:
The basis for the State of Michigan's policy regarding bites and rabies.
