Here in the states they are still doing adrenal removals. Lupron is used
for ferrets that are not good surgical candidates.

There is a vet who is local (Dr. Wagner, Fox Chapel Animal Hospital,
Pittsburgh, PA area) that is doing a lupron study. A friend who has two
ferrets taking part in the study says the amount of money it would cost
would eventually reach (and then surpass that of surgery).

At least now the medical profession is looking for non invasive ways to
help those suffering from adrenal disease.

I am glad you are questioning the vet school's statement. I would have,
too. It would have helped if they'd sat you down and explained why lupron
was better than the surgery. After all, lupron is only a stop gap measure,
while the surgery can cure.

I can't hazard any guess about the vaginal discharge. I don't know enough,
sorry.

Pat
