I meant to respond yesterday, but between work, shopping for presents and
taking care of Dopey, I simply have not had time. All of your comments are
greatly appreciated and I am going to stick with my vet. Thank you to all
who took the time. It was a huge relief to hear what Dr. Williams wrote
in response and it definitely made me feel better (now, my hubby, that is
a different story). He is feeling pretty guilty about what Dopey went
through. Thank you again to all!

Dopey is doing much better and he was switched back to regular food
yesterday. He has not had any bleeding since I brought him home on
Saturday and he is doing an excellent job of "wiping" himself. I am quite
sure he is tired of me constantly picking him up and staring at that (ahem)
place. He probably thinks we are perverted! He sure is black and blue but
the swelling has gone down each day. I still wont put him with the others
to sleep because he hasn't completely sealed up and I would not want the
others picking at his sutures. I also wont let him on the carpet because
it is rough and he has been dragging his backside. He will be happy on
Saturday when he can finally resume with his cagemates. He did manage to
tear an ornament off the tree yesterday, so that was a good sign that his
energy is returning.

So many of you that live in Washington want to know the vet's name and
also the name of the vet to avoid. I will get to each of your emails by
tomorrow.

Happy Holidays to all - I celebrate both Hannukah and Christmas (dad was
jewish, mom is christian) so I have had the best of both worlds growing up!
I am not very religious though. It sure can confuse a kid when one side
says "no pork" and the other parent likes ham. Our holiday dinners were
very "neutral". Yes, I had the pleasure of attending church and temple
services. I got plenty of sleep!

Enough of my story. Happy holidays!
