This is Susie Lee writing with new, the good, and the sad, in that order.

New intakes, from family lifestyle changes to moves to whatever other
nebulous reasons are the following ferrets, each is cleared for possible
adoption should the right humans just happen along...

Phinella (Nelly)DEW-Lovey Ferret and her buddy,
Brian DarkBlonde Ferret,

Felix FreeStyle Ferret and his buddy,
Snoopy Ferty-Ferret,

a big and really handsome roan mitt named Sean Seamus Patrick O'Ferret,
a special-case pair from an older human who had to go to California and
couldn't bring them with her...

Minx The Masked and Jinx The Jumper Ferret;

and middles-agers at about 4 years old each, named
Cody Cuddles Ferret and Felicia FairLight Ferret.

In the general department of the "that's really Nice!", under the heading
of "non-ferret-folks saying Nice things about Ferret Folks", the story of
the 16 chinchillas who were turned in to us before Thanksgiving of 2004
and how 14 of them were turned over (by us) to a qualified Chinchilla
rescue group (if the Ferret Mailing List folks might recall, the
getting-together of right-rescuers for the right-critters was with the
help of FML-ers after i yowled for help on this very List!! Thanks yet
again, you guys! ) has been published in two magazines, the Athens,
Georgia (USA)"Critters" magazine and the world-wide-published "Chinchilla
Community Magazine"'s Feb-March, 2005 issue. Mention is prominently made
of FERRET folks being instrumental in helping out , so this is yet
another thumbs-up for ferret people.

In the "sad" department, we've had to say "goodbye" to old Booncy
Snodgrass Ferret, who almost made it to 10 years of age, but had
metastacized cancer to deal with. He was on torbutrol and pediapred to
control the pain and swellings over the last three months and expired
very peacefully in his sleep, in the softest and most comfortable
beddings... just seemed to drift from earth-bedding to fleecy
cloud-bedding with not the slightest sign of pain nor discomfort. There
will never be another "grumpy-old-man"ferret like this lovable oldster...
just saying his name made everyone smile and any time he heard a human
voice nearby, he'd groan piteously so as to be cuddled and petted, which
he invariably was granted as much cuddling and petting as he wanted until
he'd fall back to sleep. No, there will never be another Booncy
Snodgrass Ferret.
