I have to agree with Russ.  My guys see just fine.  They are often
fascinated by things (even still objects) many feet away.  It's possible
that they have some nearsightedness or walleye vision, but their general
vision is very good.
 
One of my guys is very attracted to the colorful buttons on one of our
remote controls.  He attacks the thing on sight.  So we figure he has to
have at least some color vision.
